Join us for our fourth annual Pipes & Pours whisky tasting fundraiser, benefiting Las Vegas Pipe Band, a registered local nonprofit, and the annual Celtic Thanksgiving Concert. Recognizing the perfect traditional Scottish pairing of whisky and bagpipe music, this year's theme of "East versus West" pits Japanese whisky against American whiskey. It will be the first year at Pipes & Pours that attendees will get to experience whiskies from these two countries and the influence Scottish whisky making has had around the world. Japanese whisky is more popular than ever. While its distilleries were originally based on imported knowledge and skill straight from Scotland, they aren’t simply making Scotch in Japan. There are many unique elements to the production of Japanese whisky, and that’s part of the reason why the distinctive drams which result have had the whole whisky world so enamored. In terms of experimentation and modernization, the American whiskey industry is leading the way. Several distilleries have started producing the first American single malts, while countless small distilleries are popping up all across the country. The general tasting includes 5 whiskies not featured at previous Pipes & Pours events to bring you something new and the opportunity to upgrade your ticket to include 2 rare special tastings. Whiskies will be paired with complimentary small plates. A whisky expert will be on hand to pour, educate, and answer all of your questions. The evening will start and end with a smattering of pipe tunes from members of the Las Vegas Pipe Band for your listening pleasure.
